Jackson, who was responsible for a number of country music hits including “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere”, is the latest celebrity to be hoaxed to death by website FNEWS2.

The site’s main page featured a framed photo of Alan with “RIP” written next to it.

The caption reads: “6 minutes ago/with a heavy heart as we announce the sad news of 64-year-old singer Alan Jackson.”

The site has previously disseminated false reports about the death of stars like Bruce Willis, Denzel Washingtonand Dolly Parton.

Jackson revealed his diagnosis of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease in September 2021.

The degenerative nerve disease, which he was diagnosed with more than a decade ago, affects Jackson’s balance and walking ability.

“I have this neuropathy and this neurological disease,” Jackson said on TODAY when he revealed his health diagnostic.

“It’s genetics that I inherited from my father… There’s no cure, but it’s been affecting me for years. And it’s becoming more and more evident. And I know I’m tripping over stage.

“And now I have a bit of a hard time balancing myself, even in front of the mic, and so I feel very uncomfortable.”

Just last week, Jackson appeared at the 2022 Country Music Association Awards, where he received the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award.

In his acceptance speech at the Nashville awards show, Jackson said “Country music was very good to me and I fell in love with it when I was young.”

“I really like instruments, steel guitars and violins and things like that that made it so unique to me and made it its own,” he continued.

“And I love the lyrics and the songs and the artists and the melodies and the harmonies. It’s just real American music to me.
