Barbecue experts and award-winning country music artists


Whether you like barbecue (BBQ), country music or both, Narrandera Sportsground is the place to be this Saturday, November 19 from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Shannon Walker of All Things Meat has an abundant passion for meat and has been involved in the industry since 1985. Her love of barbecue began in 2007, winning awards including Reserve Grand Champion Team with Smoking Coals BBQ at Australia’s biggest barbecue competition. Shannon has traveled to the United States and Brazil, learning from some of the world’s top barbecue celebrities. He is also the host of the “Meatstock Butcher Wars” and manager of the Australian Butchers Team – Australian Butchers Team Makani, which won the silver medal at the World Butchers Challenge in America. You can enjoy his demonstrations throughout the afternoon at 12 p.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Also showcasing his skills, Rob Gallina from Game on Enterprises. Rob is a highly respected Bush Cook and creator of award-winning rubs. This team’s demonstrations will have you serving mouth-watering meats at your next barbecue.

Representing our local bush, Leanne Egan of Sandhills Artefacts will showcase her cooking techniques using native herbs and spices and proteins such as kangaroo and murray cod. Learn how you can turn familiar recipes into bush tucker versions with blending flavors and techniques.

The musical lineup includes Sameera Bashir, setting the mood with her contemporary sounds starting at 12:30 p.m., followed by an open mic session for locals between 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Watch to cheer and vote for your favorite performance for the People’s Choice Award.

The award-winning singer, songwriter, performer, vocalist and frontman of Texas Rose – Lou Hoare will take the stage at 4:30 p.m. Lou has performed at many Australian music festivals including Gympie Muster. She also holds the record for Tamworth’s largest independent Full House act with standing room only.

Starting at 6 p.m., dance with Southbound XO, a new all-female country/rock band featuring MISSY LANCASTER, Golden Guitar nominee, CMC Music Award nominee and ARIA headliner, dynamic vocalist and bassist SARAH BERNARDO, as well as sensation electric guitar player ANDREA KRAKOVSKA.

Missy Lancaster, from Picton NSW, is a staple in country music after releasing her Australian country solo debut album ARIA “Piece Of Me” in 2018. Missy has been an Apple Music Global Artist nationwide and is a three- times nominated Golden Guitar. She co-wrote Southbound XO’s top ten radio singles “Drink” and “Compose”. Through her solo catalog and releases with Southbound XO, Missy’s music has been streamed over 21 million times.

Sarah Bernardo, originally from Toronto in Canada, is a real multi-format weapon! Currently based in Australia, Sarah is a self-taught pianist, guitarist, bassist and singer. Sarah’s powerful vocals and bass playing add a compelling dual element to the Southbound XO sound. His first country co-writing was Southbound XO’s No. 1 Australian country radio single ‘Find Our Way’. His second was their Top 10 radio hit “Composition”.
