Nashville Worldwide won the International Singer Songwriter Association award on August 6.
The station was launched by Chad J Country Show host Chad Jackson in 2021.
Mr Jackson, 51, said: “Winning the award is a huge boost to the station’s credibility, reputation and hopefully listeners. The category was closely contested with radio stations from all genres and from all over the world, with the exception of the United States.

“We’ve only been in operation for thirteen months, so the recognition is firm confirmation that we’re on the right track. Our philosophy is to bring radio back to a bygone era where DJs play the music they love and not the same songs again and again. again.
“Our DJs, ranging from the youngest to the 80s, all have very different tastes in the country and the shows are all very different. I actively encourage this as it means their passion shines through. The one thing we all have in common is our love of country music.”
Nashville Worldwide is based and run from Mr. Jackson’s home in Bexhill, although the station’s DJ comes from around the world.
He added: “Bexhill is where I live so it was the obvious place to host the station. With the advent of the internet and streaming services, radio can be based just about anywhere. where there is a stable and fast internet connection. We have done live outdoor broadcasts from festivals and even from the middle of the New Forest.
“The station has its registered address in Bexhill, and obviously I run the hub from there, but our DJs are located all over the UK and we even have a few in Australia. We think a dedicated studio n isn’t necessary as it would limit the available pool of DJs we can draw from and increase our carbon footprint.
“We’re lucky to have the De La Warr Pavilion here. He’s hosted a few country artists there, Ward Thomas with the Wandering Hearts, Beth Nielsen Chapman and Marty Stewart are all due to play this year.”
