ABC News has announced a special hosted by the country music superstar Luke Bryan. ABC News crews travel the world to three different continents – Australia, Europe and North America – for behind-the-scenes insight into some of today’s top country music stars at the approach of the CMA Awards 2022. On the way to the CMA Awards explores the highs and lows of life on tour, including the most private moments offstage, while meeting the artists’ most passionate and loyal fans. “On the Road to the CMA Awards” aired on Monday, November 7 at 10 p.m. EST on ABC and aired the next day on Hulu.

The special gives viewers a comprehensive look at Wynonna Judd as she makes her emotional return to the stage following the death of her mother, Naomi Juddwith the help of his friends Martina McBride and little big city.

The program also includes the reigning CMA singer of the year Carly Pearce in London; most nominated artist at this year’s CMA Awards Lainey Wilson At New York; singer-songwriter Russell Dickerson in Belfast, traveling with his wife and two-year-old child; and country chart record holder Kane Brown on his first tour of Australia and New Zealand.
