Luke Combs Calls Cody Johnson ‘The Baddest Dude in Country Music’ After Epic Brooks & Dunn Cover

Luc Combes and Cody Johnson have joined forces for an epic collaboration at stagecoach festival Sunday evening (May 1).

Amid his headlining Mane Stage, the country superstar shocked the massive Indio, Calif. crowd with a special duet alongside fellow Mane Stage performer, “Until you can no longer” singer Cody Johnson.

Combs called Johnson the ‘baddest guy in the land’ as he walked off stage after joining Combs in an epic duet of Brooks & Dunn’s ‘Brand New Man’, a song co-written by Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn alongside Don Cook. The tune was first released in June 1991 as Brooks & Dunn’s debut single and became the country duo’s first No. 1 hit. Later, in 2019, Brooks & Dunn re-recorded the song with Luke Combs for their star-studded album To restart album.

Combs and Johnson teamed up for a rowdy take on the classic country hit hours after Johnson delivered an electrifying set earlier in the day on the same stage.

The performance sparked a huge chant with the capacity crowd.

Johnson will also join Combs on his sold-out tour this summer. The trek, which includes support from Zach Bryan and Morgan Wade, kicks off May 21 in Denver, Colorado at Empower Field and stops in Seattle, Washington at Lumen Field on June 4 and Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia on July 30. .

Before hitting the road with Johnson, Combs will embark on his Middle Of Somewhere headlining tour with live support from Jordan Davis. The trek, which kicks off September 2 in Bangor, ME, will also feature special guests Morgan Wade and Lainey Wilson on select dates.

The reigning CMA Artist of the Year recently announced plans to release his long awaited new album, To grow. The project marks its third studio album and will feature 12 tracks.

Arriving June 24 via River House Artists/Columbia Nashville, the project will feature 12 tracks, including his recent “Tomorrow Me” as well as “Doin’ This,” and was produced by Combs alongside Chip Matthews and Jonathan Singleton.

Growin’ Up is the sequel to his chart-topping album, 2x Platinum 2019, what you see is what you getand the 2020 luxury edition of the one dubbed, What you see isn’t always what you get.

Additionally, Combs is expecting his first child with wife Nicole Hocking Combs in the coming weeks.

Johnson recently celebrated a multi-week chart success with his huge hit, “‘Til You Can’t.” The song, which currently sits at No. 2 on the Billboard Country Airplay Chart for a third week in a row, has been in the Top 3 for more than a month.
