Maestro Arts signs conductor-composer Jack Sheen


Sheen to join artist management agency roster as bandleader and composer

Interdisciplinary artist management agency Master Arts, announced the signing of Jack Sheen to his roster as a conductor and composer.

In addition to making his debut as a conductor with the London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Britten Sinfoniaand FontanaMIX set in 2021 Sheen also returned to the Lucerne Festival Academy as a conductor. He also works as a composer, often directing the creation of his own works.

Rachel van Walsum, director and co-founder of Maestro Arts, said: “I followed [Jack’s] career closely over the past few years and have been extremely impressed not only by the quality and scope of his work as a conductor and composer, but also by the integrity and commitment he brings to everything he does. He shares our vision of bringing together diverse art forms, and his impressive track record in implementing this idea makes him a true 21st century artist.

Sheen is also an active force for cross-arts collaboration, co-directing the London Contemporary Music Festival (LCMF) alongside writer and curator Igor Toronyi-Lalic and co-founder of LCMF Orchestra. Sheen’s debut album, Underwritten for Octander set will be released this year.

Speaking about his practice, Sheen said: “I really appreciate broad perspectives on all art and believe that the next important step for classical music is to bring it into dialogue with a larger cultural conversation, rather than changing the art itself or the rituals that surround it. .’
