Lollapalooza India
BookMyShow brings one of the world’s most iconic music festivals to Mumbai – Lollapalooza. This will be the festival’s first foray into Asia. The multi-genre festival is known for bringing big names to the stage so Indian music fans are spoiled. Although the organizers have not yet revealed the composition (the list should be published by the end of August), what we do know is that Lollapalooza India will feature four stages with over 20 hours of Indian and international music. The event will take place in Mumbai on 28-29 January 2023.
Lollapalooza was launched in 1991 in Chicago by Perry Farrell, lead singer of rock band Jane’s Addiction. Over the years it has hosted famous bands such as Nine Inch Nails, Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Soundgarden. The festival takes its name from a late 19th- and early 20th-century American phrase meaning “an extraordinary or unusual thing”. While her home is in Chicago, Lollapalooza also organized festivals in Chile, Brazil, Argentina, Germany, France and Sweden. Now, India is the eighth country in which it takes place. The 2022 Lollapalooza is happening in Chicago this weekend. Headliners include Metallica, Dua Lipa, Green Day, Doja Cat and others.
