St. Louis Classical Music Fans Receive Welcome Gift: Returning In-Person Concerts | Music


Sporting 300 voices (ages 6-18), the St. Louis Children’s Choir performs holiday songs from around the world in a program called “The Light of the World”. Guest singer Peter Meredith joins star choirs, which include Music Makers, Children’s Choir 1B, Concert Choir and Young Men’s Chorus.

The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra’s many offerings begin with “A Gospel Christmas” (7:30 pm December 9; $ 35 to $ 68). Singer Oleta Adams joins the orchestra and choir in unison for a moving celebration.

“The Muppets Christmas Carol in Concert” (2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on December 11 to 2 p.m. on December 12; $ 38.50 to $ 71.50) features Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy and the other Muppets in their big-screen adaptation of the Charles Dickens classic. The orchestra performs the score of the film live, under the direction of assistant conductor Stéphanie Childress.
